Kevin Smith announces he’s working on a new movie or TV project about as frequently as most people change their socks. Though he’s taken to directing well-received episodes of The CW’s Arrowverse shows, like The Flash and Supergirl as of late, he’s also broadcast plans for a new Jay and Silent Bob movie, which would help fill the void left by the proposed Clerks III movie and Buckaroo Bonzai television series, two now-defunct projects he was working on before the start of 2017....

The world is getting online, and so does the new age teenagers and children. One of the earliest members of the Apple Health team has now departed Apple to join the Gates Foundation. As detailed by CNBC, Dr. Andrew Trister joined Apple in 2016, but will now take his talents to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Trister was among one of the first employees to join the Apple Health team. He worked in a vague “special projects” role at the company, but his hiring coincided with Apple’s strong push into healthcare and medical research....

An investment note by KGI predicts that Apple will next week report year-on-year iPhone sales up 23.6% to 48.5M, but says that that holiday quarter sales will be down on last year, and that the decline will continue into the first quarter of next year. KGI says that China is the big factor, included as a launch country this year, and hence contributing to calendar Q3/fiscal Q4 sales, while last year’s China sales fell into the holiday quarter....

Throughout November, we saw reports of cuts at many iPhone suppliers, supposedly due to order cuts from Apple regarding demand weakness in iPhone XS and iPhone XR. However, arguably the two most important members of Apple’s supply chain, Foxconn assembly and A12 chipmaker TSMC, just reported good revenues for November (via Bloomberg). The majority of iPhones are assembled by Foxconn and all of the Apple SoCs (like the A12 Fusion) are manufactured by TSMC....

Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities is out with his latest investor note this evening covering more changes we can expect with next year’s iPhone refresh. Kuo writes that Apple will bring L-shaped battery designs to the 6.5-inch and 5.8-inch OLED iPhones introduced next year, allowing for increased capacity and improved battery life… Currently, the iPhone X features an L-shaped battery structure, but KGI predicts improvements and further refinement of the battery technology will allow Apple to increase the size of that battery....

Respected analyst Ming Chi-Kuo from KGI Securities has this evening issued an investor note in which he predicts sales for Apple’s latest tablet, iPad Pro. Kuo predicts in his note that Apple will sell between 2.4 million and 2.6 million iPad Pro units in the fourth quarter of 2015. As we head into 2016, Kuo expects those numbers to slide slightly to between 2.1 million units and 2.3 million units....

Kickstarter: Today Kickstarter announced that it is finally launching an official app for iPhone and iPod touch. The app provides users with the majority of features accessible through the website including the ability to find, filter, and back projects, watch project videos, follow and keep up with projects in an always up-to-date Activity tab, and receive notifications when someone backs or launches a project. The app also includes creator tools such as a feature to “take pictures and videos with their iPhone camera and post them as project updates straight from the app....

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is heaping high praise upon the impressive cast assembled for the upcoming MCU superhero adventure Black Panther. A lot of great stories have emerged from cast and crew members from the MCU in the past couple of weeks via the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 junket as well as a visit by journalists to Marvel Studios. A lot of attention was paid, naturally, to the future of Guardians as well as Avengers: Infinity War, but not a whole lot of word surfaced about the February 2018 release of the Black Panther, except that Marvel screened some early footage of the solo movie starring Chadwick Boseman as the titular character....

KFC is apparently working on a Colonel Sanders dating simulator game - I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator, to be exact - in collaboration with developer Psyop, according to a Steam listing that went live earlier today. Dating simulator games are a popular genre on the digital distribution platform, often performing above expectation due to cultivating a fanbase that is hungry for more romance content....

KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo issued an AAPL investor report this morning that is mostly pessimistic on Apple’s prospects of meaningfully increasing iPhone and iPad sales in the first half of the year. The Taiwan-based investment analyst doesn’t see an upside to the release of the iPhone 5se or iPad Air 3 later this quarter, sees meaningful slowing in YoY 6S/Plus sales and isn’t yet excited about the iPhone 7… Specifically, KGI reiterates its 4Q15 iPhone shipments forecast of 77M units, and forecasts 1Q16 shipments to decrease 44....

An Apple patent application has described how transparent glass keycaps could be used to improve MacBook keyboard durability. Rather fittingly, given the unhappy history of the butterfly keyboard on MacBooks, the patent acknowledges the difficulties inherent in trying to design a keyboard that is both thin and durable… One perennial problem with keyboards is that printed keycaps tend to wear off over time. The patent application describes a way to completely avoid that by having inverted keyboard glyphs beneath the surface, so that light shines through the transparent surface....

In the latest episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it seems Kourtney Kardashian was on the outs with sisters Kim and Khloé after being confronted that she has too many boundaries. The hit show has made its mark dominating the reality television landscape as the sisters have withstood 17 seasons together. Nebula has unleashed on Thanos the full force of her frustration, and a strong Essex accent, in a new Instagram video posted by Karen Gillan.
