A new report from KGI out today predicts iPad sales this year will drop by around 30% marking the biggest decline in the history of the device. That 30% decline year over year compared to 2014 means KGI predicts Apple will sell 44-45 million units during 2015. The decline in iPad sales has already started, according to estimates from KGI, with the firm predicting shipments in Q1 and Q2 of this year will drop by over 50%....

AAPL stock is down slightly today due to a report from Digitimes that Apple has asked suppliers to slow down delivery of iPhone X components, and investor fears that iPhone 8 demand is weak. KGI Research’s Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the few analyst/firms with a respectable record on Apple forecasts, updated its iPhone sales expectation numbers this weekend for the holiday quarter and Q1 of 2015. Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has released a new report further forecasting that the 2017 iPhone will likely adopt and glass front and back design like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. The idea seems to be that the new Jet Black iPhone 7 has proved highly popular with customers due to the appeal of its glossy finish, and glass would make it much less scratch prone; Apple has recommended customers use a case with the glossy aluminum model to avoid ‘micro abrasions’ from general usage....

The rollout is expected to take place in phases between July to November 2017 and will eventually cover include all the countries. In the first phase, the program will be released in the United States, Canada, and other Asia Pacific countries. The next phase covers Latin America, Africa, and India. The third and the last phase will include Europe, Japan and South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand. On Tuesday, SentinelOne published an analysis of the bug, tracked as CVE-2021-45388 and deemed critical by the research team. The vulnerability impacts the KCodes NetUSB kernel module. KCodes solutions are licensed by numerous hardware vendors to provide USB over IP functionality in products including routers, printers, and flash storage devices. KCodes NetUSB, the subject of a SEC Consult Vulnerability Lab analysis in the past, is proprietary software used to facilitate these connections – and the software is currently “used by a large number of network device vendors,” of which the security flaws “affect millions of end-user router devices,” according to SentinelOne....
