Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at KGI Securities is out today with a new note concerning demand for the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Ultimately, Kuo says that shipment volume for the iPhone 7 Plus is better than expected, though iPhone 7 shipment volume is lower than that of the iPhone 6s. One contributing factor to iPhone 7 Plus shipments being higher than expected is the Galaxy Note 7’s exploding battery recall....

Lucasfilm president Katleen Kennedy says that a female filmmaker will direct a future Star Wars. Reliable Apple analyst KGI Ming-Chi Kuo is reporting that they believe Apple is looking to leapfrog its existing Touch ID sensor, first introduced in 2013 with the iPhone 5s and refined with a 2x faster sensor for iPhone 6s, to instead rely on several new biometric technologies, which will enable new iPhones and iPads to feature ‘zero bezel’ designs. It’s been 30 years since China’s first KFC outlet opened. To commemorate this landmark feat, the retail giant has decided to offer up a limited edition smartphone in partnership with Huawei. The phone is colored entirely in Red and comes with the iconic Colonel Sanders marking on the back panel. There’s no word on where the phone will be sold, but it’s possible that KFC will sell this at its outlets or even through its official store on Alibaba’s TMall platform, although we’re still waiting for confirmation on that front....
