KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has issued a new report that predicts Apple Pencil shipments will double this year. Kuo believes it is possible the iPhone could eventually support Apple Pencil, but it’s more likely that the new 9.7-inch iPad expected to be unveiled next week will work with Apple Pencil. As a result, Kuo forecasts Apple Pencil sales — which the company doesn’t specifically disclose — will double to 9-10 million this year from what Kuo estimates at 4-4....

A new Kickstarter campaign is hoping to solve two issues associated with the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. A). the lack of a 3.5mm headphone port, and B). the inability to charge the iPhone 7 while listening to music. To be fair, Apple does include a Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter in the iPhone 7 box, so I wouldn’t go as far as to call that a real problem, but the inability to charge and listen to headphones at the same time may pose a legitimate issue for some....

Marvel head Kevin Feige teased that Marvel may release an Infinity Saga box set that will include some deleted “bad” scenes. The Infinity Saga refers to the 23 movies that make up the whole of the Infinity War storyline in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first movie in the series is Iron-Man, which premiered in 2008. Feige coined the phrase Infinity Saga recently after the release of Avengers: Endgame....

In a report on Monday, Bitdefender’s Martin Zugec wrote that he saw attacks on Sunday against systems running the Windows operating system. These attacks were attempting to deploy Khonsari. Zugec told ZDNet that Khonsari is relatively new ransomware and is considered basic – compared to the sophistication of professional ransomware-as-a-service groups. “Most likely, it is a threat actor experimenting with this new attack vector. However, that doesn’t mean that more advanced actors are not looking at exploiting the Log4j vulnerability; they most assuredly are,” Zugec explained....

Based on Luke Jennings’s Codename Villanelle novella series, the drama stars Sandra Oh, who earned a Prime Emmy Award nomination for her season 1 performance. KGI remains very bullish on the uptake of Apple’s truly wireless AirPods earbuds ($159: eBay, Best Buy). In a new report published today, Ming-Chi Kuo says that he expects Apple to double shipments of the AirPods in 2018. This would equate to shipments in the range of 26-28 million units. AirPods have been supply constrained since their introduction in December 2016. Only in the last few weeks has availability improved to the point where the Apple Online Store reports 1-3 day delivery estimates....

This means that federal agencies and state departments are not permitted to purchase software products from Kaspersky. KGI research has published a new report that claims Apple will incorporate its Touch ID fingerprint sensor into all new iOS devices launched in 2014. This includes both new iPhone models, and the next versions of the full-size iPad an its ‘mini’ counterpart. The note also states that Touch ID sensor shipments will increase by 233% this year, which would certainly make sense if the technology was going to be added to so many new devices....
